In central Amsterdam she is at the door forty to sixty minutes after confirmation. At Schiphol there is no standing window; the journey time is agreed first.
The arrival window is the stretch of time between a booking being confirmed and the knock at the door. Inside central Amsterdam it runs from forty to sixty minutes, at any hour of the day or night, across Centrum, the Jordaan, the Red Light District, De Pijp, Oud-Zuid, Zuidas and the streets around the Vondelpark, Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein. The width of the window allows for rain, traffic and a slow lift without turning every booking into a guess.
Schiphol sits outside it. The airport, Schiphol-Oost and Schiphol-Rijk are served by arrangement: each booking is answered with a journey time before anything is fixed, and the hour agreed is the hour that journey allows. On an ordinary weekday evening that may be close to the hour asked for; in a conference week, or at the end of an office day when the roads are full, it may be later.
For regular visitors the practical difference is when to write. In town a message in the afternoon for that evening is plenty. Out by the runways a message at lunchtime, or the day before, gives the journey room. The Schiphol-Oost page describes how that works in the business district.
